Hock Soon Poultry Farm has set a new standard in engaging layer farming with features of well planned infrastructure for production, use of technology that complies without any wastage. Hygiene, good husbandry practice and waste reduction has allowed environmental preservation without sacrificing any productivity and efficiency.

Good Animal Husbandry Practitioner (SALT)

The management team is committed to produce as well as reducing the environmental degradation. All biological wastes are recycled into being composted and the end product is then use for agriculture purposes. In that way, wastage is being minimized.

Animal health is being well practiced as Hock Soon has been accredited by the Department of Veterinary Services as a ‘Good Animal Husbandry Practitioner (SALT)’ since the year of 2006.

HALAL & Mesti Certificate

Hock Soon has also been accredited by Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) for the HALAL certification, as well as from the Ministry of Health Malaysia for the MeSTI certification in the year of 2012 and 2013 respectively.

With that all, we are dedicated to strive for better achievements while serving to be one of the innovative leader in the production of table eggs in the layer industry in Malaysia.

Hock Soon Growing Journey

1960’s

Hock Soon Poultry Farm was founded by Mr. Ong Kim Hock in the 1960’s in the state of Selangor. Initially, the farm started with just a few hundred hen chickens producing a small number of tables eggs only.

1979's

Assisted by the second generation, Hock Soon shifted to Bidor, Perak in order to build another layer farm and already with a production capacity of 30,000 eggs/ day.

1996’s

Mr. Ong Boon Leng, the Managing Director, recognized that the old labor-intensive open house system was limiting the farm's growth. Hock Soon has now adopted an advanced automated closed-house system from Germany to expand production to 300,000 eggs/day. This computer-controlled system manages ventilation, cooling, feeding, egg collection, and manure removal.

1999’s

A fully computerized feedmill with a production capacity of 5,000 mt was build to cater to the in-house need for the fast expanding egg production.

2000’s

Mr Ong Hong Hui, the third generation/ Finance and Marketing Director of the business has joined the Management Team. With his expertise in business administration and finance as well as computerisation, Hock Soon’s development was accelerated even faster.

2004’s

With the success in utilising the closed-house operation system, Hock Soon ceased the operation for all traditional open-house and the farm has transformed into a fully automated egg production complex.

2010’s

Mr. Eric Ong Keat Qian, being the third generation, had joined the family business to help with the rapid expansion. Hock Soon had completed it’s final expansion of farm production capacity to 1,200,000 eggs a day.

2012’s

Hock Soon completed it’s final expansion of farm production capacity to 1,200,000 eggs a day. At the same time, blueprint to secure another 1,200,000 eggs production complex is on the drawing board.

2020’s

During the wave of COVID-19 pandemic, Hock Soon had been contributing in stablising the food security issue in the nation, by ensuring supply despite issues. Mr. Alex Ong Keat Hoe, being the third generation, has also joined the family business, while marching on to our next expansion in the blueprint.
